imac1983: made some tea earlier....loose leaf tea
imac1983: and had no idea how much to actually use
imac1983: so, made a cup of hot tea from that
imac1983: took a sip, said holy shit that's strong
imac1983: mind you, I can drink gin and scotch straight from the bottle without any issue
imac1983: had to dilute 4 times before it was tolerable
imac1983: and realistically, it's probably sent me on a caffeine rush the likes that humanity has ne'er before seen
luckyduck756: and you teach our youth

An incompetent waiter, plenty of queso and Kim marking on Ian with a green marker (that he still had from grading his students' papers) made for much fun. That's something that never ceases to amaze me: Ian, our furry Scotsman, the guy I've seen drink gin straight from the bottle and complain about not being able to feel his face while owning us all in Halo, is educating our youth. God help us.

Methinks that I shall hear that till the end of my days.....badass.

Cool thing = buying new dress shirts. Something just incredibly cool about getting that crisp, new dress shirt....

Very not cool thing = buying new dress shirts. Because I've always got that nagging feeling that even though I've looked long and hard, I've missed that one devilish little pin in the shirt. And that then I'll find it. And that I will be in pain...stupid pain, at that.

So early....

Monday, January 17, 2005

So tomorrow begins the student teaching. Which means I will no longer be around. And will have to work all the time. For free. So if I am a grouch to you, don't take it personally this semester....

Anyways, sorta exciting. Got clothes for it all, nice new shiny dress shoes, and ties. Some very nice, formal ties, some not so much traditional. Today at Ross, Brit and I found teacher ties. Science teacher ties. They're quite badass, if I might say so myself.

I've apparently become Mr. Frizzle.

David showed me something today that is intense. Very thoughtful, wanna know why I want to teach, listen to this. It's Poetry Jam...this guy used to be an 8th grade teacher. Let me know what you think.

Driving into Pasadena has always been an adventure for the senses, for each time you enter the factories overwhelm you with their scents; most often, this smells like ass. Which I am used to. Perfectly normal to smell ass in Pasadena. However, this past time I went there it smelled like Ass mixed with Tony Chachere's. Most odd combination I've ever smelt.

Also, forgot how badass Pantera and Candlebox were.

3 weeks 'til Halo 2. Then, no more shall I be found.

New song from Apocalyptica with a another language, but sounds badass nonetheless. Swear that woman's got a deeper voice than any man I know. Creepy, but cool.

My beer says collaborate on it. I hate these goddamn teacher words. Collaborate has got to be the worst. Just fucking say working together. Or something like it. I don't need you to constantly say this word because it makes you feel good being a teacher and saying a four syllable word. These fucktards throw around words like collaborate, inquiry, and such....then proceed to smack kids in the back of the head instead of actually doing what they're trying to say.

Five dollar friend, badass. Jyoti and Katie were there, as well as Katy. Brittnee and her brother Brian came...great fun. Also, Emily came out (fun freshman girl, for those of you who don't know). Matt Bell + guitar = awesome. That's all I have to say about that.

Stupid beer.
